Tamil Nadu unit CPI Secretary D Pandian today claimed some political parties were trying to create rift between his party and AIADMK but asserted they would not succeed.
"Till now CPI is part of the coalition--on the basis of sharing constituency--even after the announcement by the ruling party that it would contest all the 40 Lok Sabha seats in the state and Puducherry," he told reporters here.
Since CPI had good understanding with AIADMK and also knew the party well, the efforts by some parties to break the relationship will not not succeed, he said.
Stating that Congress and BJP will not be able to form the Government on its own after the Lok Sabha elections, he said even there would not not be enough allies for them to stake claim for a coalition government.
On the arrest of Tamil Nadu fishermen by Sri Lanka, Pandian said that the Centre should take efforts to release all of them.
It should also take steps to retrieve Katchaitheevu from Sri Lanka, which was main reason for the arrests of fishermen.
