The first bench, comprising Chief Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul and Justice M Sathyanarayanan, stated this while disposing of a petition by Tindivanam Nagara Ginjee Road Auto workers Welfare Association.
The Association had sought a direction to the Villupuram District Collector to change the venue of the proposed premises of 'Amma Unavagam'(Amma Restaurant) near the public lavatories of Tindivanam municipality bus stand.
The first bench faulted the functioning of the authorities in not responding to such grievances, resulting in filing of petitions before the Court, taking up valuable judicial time.
"We pointed out to the learned Government Pleader there are numerous petitions coming forth before this court arising out of some allegations of unauthorized constructions, misuse of waterways and the grievances against the functioning of municipal authorities. Thus, it is necessary that the grievances are attended to, redressed, provided where the grievances are found genuine within a time-bound schedule."
The bench recorded the submission by Government Pleader S T S Moorthy that the representation made by the petitioners Association would be looked into within this period and disposed of the petition.
