UK-based retail major Tesco today announced the appointment of Glen Attewell as the new chief executive officer of its operations and technology arm Tesco Hindustan Service Centre (Tesco HSC).
Attewell is succeeding Sandeep Dhar, who is exiting the company after a stint of five years, said Tesco in a statement.
He would report to Alison Horner, Group Personnel Director, who serves on the Tesco Executive Committee.
"In this role, Glen Attewell will work closely with the leadership team to continue the journey of Tesco HSC in becoming a fully integrated part of Tesco's multichannel strategy," the statement said.
Prior to it, Attewell was a Commercial Director at Tesco's Homeplus business in Korea, where he has spent the last eight years.
Attewell has been with Tesco for 28 years in several its businesses in Asia.
Set up in 2004, Tesco HSC is the operations and technology centre for Tesco and has an employee strength of over 6,800. It is the first fully-owned retail operations centre set up at Bangalore, India by any major international retailer.
Tesco is world's third largest retailer with a turnover of USD 72.4 billion. It operates around 6,784 stores across 12 countries and employs over 530,000 people.
