The students were on a three-day visit to the University to learn about Indian agriculture. The main purpose was to know about the village life, farming practices, crops grown, animal husbandry and organic farming, a TNAU statement said today.
During their visit, which concluded today, the students were taken for a field visit to Odaikulam village near Pollachi, where different crops like coconut, nutmeg, pepper and cocoa were grown,
They were eager to know about rice cultivation in ayacut and organic farming practices for different crops and also cocoa and nutmeg processing, the release said.
