Australian all-rounder Lisa Sthalekar said, "Obviously a 147 runs is not enough on a wicket like that. I always felt it was a game to go down to the wire. Obviously we needed to pickup some early wickets and our seamers did a wonderful job at the start to have six."
Press Trust of IndiaFields added that she was nervous when Greenway and Marsh batted and later when the last two batters brought England closer to the total. "With the partnership in the middle between Greenway and Marsh they were just steadily ticking along. They are quite experienced players and they knew they had to tick it over and get the odd runs here and there. If they could keep their wicket intact they would go quite well. But at the same time if we knew we could keep getting a few tight overs," she said. "We had to keep bowling tight line. We knew those two batters Anya and Holly would be under a lot of pressure. We backed our players and we came through with the goods today," she added. Sthalekar rated the performance highly and said, "I have been fortunate to play in few matches where it has been tight. A world cup against the English girls with such a tight finish is really important for us as team building through to the world cup and that ranks pretty high." She added that perhaps the toss becomes insignificant while playing against key opponents. "Obviously the conditions over here is helping the swing bowlers. Maybe the toss isn't a vital one when you are playing key opponents," she said.
