Australian held at IGIA for carrying live bullets in bag

An Australian national has been apprehended by the CISF at the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) here for allegedly carrying two live bullets in his hand baggage.
According to officials, the incident was reported yesterday after a CISF security personnel detected the live ammunition of 5.56 mm calibre from the baggage of a flier arriving from Vienna and was to travel to Goa from here.
"The person has been identified as Australian national W Joshed and he was in transit to Goa when he was held. He could not produce documents for carrying the two rounds and was handed over to Delhi police," they said.
Carrying of arms and ammunition in the aircraft is prohibited under law in India, they added.
