On a day Mumbai voted in the fourth and final phase of Lok Sabha elections in Maharashtra, a delegation of the Australian High Commission visited the country's financial capital to understand the voting procedure.
The delegation was taken to some polling stations in the city, said a statement issued by Mumbai district Collector Shivaji Jondhale.
"The Election Commission of India has sent the delegation on a Mumbai tour. It was taken to Sakhi polling centres at Cuffe Parade and Jai Hind College, which were operated by all women officials," it said.
A video clip about the election procedure was shown to the delegation, it said, adding that the members were also shown functioning of EVMs and VVPAT machines and their usage.
The six Lok Sabha constituencies in Mumbai voted along with 11 seats in rest of the state.
Mumbai recorded 55.11 per cent voting, an improvement over the 2014 elections figure of 51.59 per cent.
The final voting percentage in Maharashtra could reach 57 per cent.
