A beer-crazy Australian man has successfully checked in a can of lager as his only luggage on a domestic flight but the airliner hopes others will not follow his prank.
For a laugh, Dean Stinson, a data research analyst, checked in the can of Emu Export lager on Qantas flight from Melbourne to Perth last Saturday.
The can arrived, tagged and unopened, as the first item on the baggage carousel at Perth Airport after a four-hour journey from Melbourne.
"There was no luggage out yet but everyone was milling around and had their phones out so I was pretty sure I knew what was going on," he told news website Unilad.
Stinson, said he and a friend had come up with the idea as a joke.
The airline, Qantas, said it did not encourage other travellers to follow suit.
"This guy's done it and he's won the internet for the day, so we're happy to move on," a spokesman said in a statement to the BBC.
The airline does not charge an additional fee for checked baggage, the report said.
