Bryce will reach Varanasi by April 2014 cycling 4,300 kilometres beginning from Goa to the East coast, and then to Varanasi via Kolkata. Delhi-based NGO Lakshya Aakriti Foundation (LAF) is associated with the event.
"While cycling from Delhi to Goa in 2012, I realised that people are being trafficked, enslaved and exploited due to lack of education. It was beyond frustration. So I decided to cycle again in India in 2013 to raise funds for the education of vulnerable children in India," Bryce said.
"Funds raised from this campaign will go directly to establish the 'Brighter Futures Education Centre', first in Delhi and later all across India," he said.
The NGO which has associated itself with the expedition runs a school where children can learn basic life skills, literacy and numeracy as well as art, music, dance, yoga and meditation.
"The centre will also obtain birth certificates in preparation for formal school enrolment," organisers said.
