"Most book launches are usually boring. I wanted to do something interesting and hit upon the quiz idea to introduce the book to the audience in a fun way," says Shweta who got a "tremendous" response for a similar occult quiz held in Bangalore recently.
Based on the dark fantasy genre, the book published by Harper Collins is the story of Anantya Tantrist, a 23-year-old tantrik detective who fights crime.
"There will be a quiz on everything paranormal and supernatural. There will be freebies like blade-shaped bookmarks and giveaways and book prizes and snacks and laughter during the event," says Shweta.
"People are fast tiring of the same old mythology genre and want to look beyond it. An urban fantasy, which weaves myth, folklore into contemporary Delhi, where you have a city girl fighting monsters, seems to be just right for now," says the author.
Shweta, is now working on the second part of 'Anantya Tantrist' series, again set in Delhi. Also up her sleeve is a book on Young Adult genre based in Manipal where a 17-year-old girl gets involved with ghost hunters or paranormal investigators.
