At the event organised by the JNU Students Union (JNUSU), author Shuddabrata Sengupta urged students to take up resistance in all forms and maintain it till Ahmed was found.
"Continued resistance in different forms is needed. Also, the quiet work like regularly updating legal counsel, working with his family, asking investigating officers is much needed," Sengupta said, adding that this was not the time for anyone to score points.
"The VC is the guardian of every student. Technically, the VC can be prosecuted for dereliction of duty," he said.
Senior Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar said it was everyone's responsibility to find Ahmed.

He had an altercation with several students, allegedly affiliated to the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), according to his friends and family.
