Accused Mohammad Faheemuddin had allegedly murdered V Simhadri (62) and his wife V Sulochana (60) last evening at their residence in Hydershakota area before stealing their gold ornaments and cell phones, they said.
The old couple used to hire the accused auto driver, who alongwith his acquaintance, used to visit their house frequently, police said.
"After establishing a close association with them, Faheemuddin came to know that the couple are alone and financially well off. Faheemuddin, who was facing severe financial crisis, hatched a plan to commit theft in their house," a release from Cyberabad Police said.
Acting on a tip-off, police laid a trap and arrested him today.
