Auto, taxi drivers hold protest outside Delhi CM's residence

A number of auto, taxi, gramin sewa and economy-friendly sewa drivers today held a protest outside the residence of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal demanding role back of increased fees in the Transport Department.
Bharatiya Private Transport Mazdoor Sangh's National Vice-President Rajendra Soni said Delhi government is taking hefty penalty fees for late fitness which has angered the operators.
He said the operators are demanding withdrawal of the increased fees.
The union also sought that gramin sewa operators should be given new routes and app-based aggregators like Ola and Uber brought under the ambit of law and they should also be operated through meter system.
