Union Minister for Food Processing Harsimrat Kaur Badal disclosed this today after inaugurating the automated driving test track of Mansa at village Malakpur Khiala which is spread over 1.25 acres of land and has been constructed at a cost of Rs 1.75 crore.
With the opening of this facility, all procedures of making a driving licence will be brought under one roof and the licence will be issued on the spot, she said.
Badal said this project has been introduced to help drivers of 2-wheelers and 4-wheelers get licence easily in a transparent manner and added that these tracks would help mitigate corruption.
She said owing to strict standards of the test, those found unfit will not be able to get licences and road accidents will also be curbed.
She added that this centre is equipped with CCTV cameras, motion sensors and webcasting facilities.
Besides this, a circular track and an inclined track has been prepared to test driving of 2-wheeler and 4-wheeler divers, she said.
