"We strongly condemn the Khap system and procedure followed by AAP as it is against the constitution of the party," AAP Volunteers Avaz Manch (AVAM) secretary Amit Kumar Sriastava in a press statement.
"What happened with AVAM Volunteers was repeated with Shanti ji and Prashant ji, and now with more than 100 NC members. All steps and decisions are against the constitution of AAP and illegal and unlawful acts.
Accusing the AAP leadership of suspending over 40 members ahead of the National Council meeting tomorrow, dissident AAP leader Shanti Bhushan today said the action was against the party's constitution and threatened to take legal recourse.
The AVAM said it supported Bhushan for his decision to fight a legal "battle" with the AAP leadership over the issue.
Bhushan, who is AAP's founding member and father of the expelled rebel leader Prashant Bhushan, alleged that more than 40 National Council members have been served show-cause notices and some 90 people have not been informed about the meeting.
