A local court today dismissed the protest petition filed in connection with the "encounter killings" of CPI (Maoist) leader Cherukuri Rajkumar, alias Azad, and Delhi journalist Hemchandra Pandey.
Magistrate B Mary Sara Danamma did not take cognisance of the petition and dismissed it.
Two protest petitions were filed in the court earlier by K Padma, wife of Azad, and the slain journalist's wife B Pandey, seeking registration of a murder case against the policemen who took part in the "encounter," while alleging that it was fake.
The alleged encounter took place in Adilabad district on July 1, 2010.
CBI had in March 2012 filed a final probe report before the Supreme Court terming the encounter as genuine and giving a clean chit to Andhra Pradesh police.
However, the petitions were filed against CBI's final report in a court here and were subsequently clubbed together.
The magistrate had earlier posted the matter for orders today on whether to take cognisance of the petition or not.
