Former Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh today said that Azam Khan should avoid making comments on UP Governor Ram Naik as he holds a constitutional post.
"Azam should avoid making comments on Governor as it is a constitutional post. I have earlier also made comments on the then UP governor TV Rajeswar, but now I feel that it was my childishness", Singh said.
"Azam is close to Mulayam Singh Yadav and due to him me and Jaya Prada was sacked form SP. Such statements from him, will adversely affect party's reputation", he added.
UP Minister Azam Khan had recently written a four-page letter to Naik in which he had accused the Governor of having a "continued negative" approach against him and making "politically motivated" statements on the vexed Ayodhya issue.
Terming Azam Khan's letter as "inappropriate", Naik had said he would respond to the minister's allegations through Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav.
When asked about his next step in politics, Singh said, "I myself did not know what will I will do. I will sit at home, but its sure that I will not compromise with my pride".
"I have no differences with Mulayam and Akhilesh Yadav. Mulayam is my elder brother and Akhilesh is like my son and if they meet in this capacity we can talk. But I cannot talk with politician Mulayam and CM Akhilesh", he said.
Singh also attacked businessman Ashok Chaturvedi stating that he claims himself to be close to Mulayam and was trying to get land use of his factories changed.
