Bangladesh High Commissioner to India Tariq Ahmad Karim today discussed ways and means to strengthen business ties with Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt Gen (Retd) Nirbhay Sharma and Chief Minister Nabam Tuki here.
During a meeting with Tuki, the Chief Minister detailed the potential of the state in the spheres of hydro power development, tourism and agriculture and allied sectors and hoped business ties between Arunachal Pradesh and Bangladesh could be substantially improved, an official release said.
"It is the great Brahmaputra that binds us and makes us attached to each other," said Karim while admitting to the vast potential of the state.
He suggested that the state government should come up with viable projects to unlock the landlocked geographical terrain and pave way for foreign investments for economic growth.
While categorising tourism and hydro power as the key sectors for the growth of the economy in the state, the High Commissioner pitched on working together to encourage these sectors, the release said.
The meeting was also attended by the state UD and Tourism Minister Pema Khandu along with Principal Secretary Home Dharmendra Sharma and Commissioner to CM Thajom Taloh, the release added.
