The police said that Nazira Alfil Firdos (20), who hailed from Khargram in Murshidabad district was found hanging at 3 pm by another student of the college.
The girl was hanging using a scarf, the police said, adding that she was rushed to nearby Burdwan Medical College and Hospital where doctors declared her brought dead.
Angry students agitated in the college demanding investigation and accused the principal and the course coordinator of not allowing them to go home.
