Badaun gangrape: One constable held, sent to judicial custody

One of the two constables on the run after allegedly raping a minor inside a police station premises in Badaun was arrested here today when he was about to board a Delhi-bound train and subsequently sent to judicial custody for 14 days.
Constable Avnish Yadav was picked up from the railway station around 1 AM by the Special Task Force and local police, Additional Superintendent of Police Rajiv Malhotra said.
Yadav was produced in a court in Badaun which remanded him in judicial custody for 14 days.
While being taken to the court, he told mediapersons that he was innocent.
Malhotra said police were looking for the second accused Veerpal Yadav and expected to nab him soon.
Both the constables have been dismissed from service.
