The doors of the shrine, which is part of the famous Char Dham pilgrimage, will be closed at 3.25 PM, chief executive officer B D Singh said.
Portals of another Char Dham shrine Kedarnath will be closed from November 15 on the day of Bhai Duj.
The four Char Dham shrines in the state -- Gangotri, Yamunotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath -- are closed around this time of the year as the area remains covered under snow during winter.
The shrines reopen with the advent of summers.
