Main opposition party in Uttarakhand BJP today termed Bahuguna government's one year in office as highly disappointing and said nothing was done during the period for the development of the state.
"The state government remained in a state of slumber doing nothing for the development of the people of the state despite completing a year of its tenure," Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Ajay Bhatt told reporters here.
He also accused the Congress-led government of playing into the hands of private builders, which was selling precious land meant for development purposes to them at throwaway prices.
Bhatt alleged that the recent Cabinet decision to simplify the process of land use change through an amendment in the relevant Act was to promote the interests of private builders and the land mafia.
Charging the state government with callous indifference towards the deprived sections, he said only 50 per cent of the funds made available by the Centre under MGNREGA have so far been spent despite just a fortnight to go for the end of the current financial year.
