Kashyap defeated Singapore's Derek Wong in the final in Glasgow to emulate badminton legend Prakash Padukone (1978 winner) and the late Syed Modi (1982 winner).
The women's doubles pair of Jwala and Ashwini, who had won a gold in 2010 Delhi CWG, had to settle for silver while P V Sindhu and RMV Guru Sai Dutt bagged the bronze in women's and men's singles respectively.
Das Gupta also took the opportunity to thanks chief national coach Pullela Gopi Chand, Madhumita Bisht, the support staff, Indian Olympic Association and the Sports Ministry for all the support and said they were now focused on winning medals in next month's Asian Games in Incheon, Korea.
"The Indian team would be further strengthened by the return of Saina Nehwal and I am confident that we will bring back medals from Incheon as well," Das Gupta added.
