Heaping praise on Saina, BAI chief Dr Akhilesh Das Gupta said that the Indian star player very much needed a win like this before the London Olympics.
"The win has come at the right time when Saina needed it most ahead of the Olympics," Das said.
"Saina's achievement has given Indian badminton yet another success at the world level and it will have a positive impact on other shuttlers of the country also," he added.
BAI general secretary Dr Vijai Sinha also praised Saina, saying, "I congratulate Saina for her success and wish her more successes in further events, including Olympics."
The world number five Saina beat Thailand's Ratchanok Inthanon 19-21 21-15 21-10 in the final to clinch her second title of the year after winning the Swiss Open in March.
