"We are entering into chemical-free cosmoceutical sector under the brand Mantra. We plan to introduce herbal medicines in newly emerging therapeutic segments, including diabetology, cardiovascular diseases and hepatology," Shree Baidyanath Ayurved Bhawan Executive Director Anurag Sharma told PTI here.
Kolkata-based Shree Baidyanath Ayurved Bhawan (Baidyanath) have been pioneering ayurvedic healthcare since 1917, with 10 ultramodern manufacturing facilities, offering more than 700 formulations in various parts of the country.
"We have got Mantra cleared by the USFDA and successfully launched the products in the US market. We are now launching in India to start with tier-I cities by March 2016. The 40 products under Mantra brand will get manufactured at the company's facilities in Himachal Pradesh," Sharma said.
Although these segments are growing rapidly, at present there are no herbal remedies available for such lifestyle diseases in the country.

Set up close to the source of the herbal ingredients, most of our units are GMP and ISO certified. Manufacturing a range of over 700 patented Ayuvedic products, our analytical laboratories also use equipment that adhere to GMP standards.
The company has recently launched ayurvedic mouth freshener brand name, Ullas, which is totally tobacco and nicotine free and made with government approved herbal ingredients.
On the company's growth plan, Sharma said, we are targeting to achieve Rs 100 crore sales from Mantra brand in the two years period. With the launch of more products, the company aims to achieve 25-28 per cent CAGR and turnover of Rs 1,200 crore in next 3-4 years period.
