Bail to Home Stay attack accused

A court today granted bail to a cameraman, working with a local cable TV network, who was arrested in connection with the Home Stay attack here in July last year.
The relief to Sharan, arrested for allegedly recording the incident on July 28 last year, was granted by second Additional District and Sessions court here.
Sharan, who had filmed the goings on, was accused by the police of not providing them the information about the attack as soon as he came to know about it.
Activists of a right-wing Hindu group had attacked a birthday party at a homestay in Mangalore, alleging undesirable activities were going on there. They had targetted the partying persons, including girls some of whose faces were blackened, triggering a public outrage.
Recently Naveen Soorinje, a reporter of a Kannada TV, was granted bail by Karnataka High Court in the case and later the government dropped charges against him.
