Bajaj Auto stock dives nearly 5% as Oct sales disappoint

Bajaj Auto's scrip today fell nearly 5 per cent after the company reported a 8.59 per cent decline in total sales for October.
Shares of Bajaj Auto dipped 4.85 per cent to settle at Rs 2,426 on BSE. Intra-day, it plunged 6.1 per cent to Rs 2,394.
At NSE, the stock lost 4.61 per cent to end at Rs 2,432.65.
Following the dip in the stock, the company's market valuation fell by Rs 3,576.56 crore to Rs 70,200.44 crore.
The stock was the top loser on Sensex and Nifty indices.
Bajaj Auto today reported a 8.59 per cent decline in total sales in October at 3,52,822 units as against 3,86,017 units in the same month last year.
Motorcycle sales during the month slipped 8.36 per cent to 3,08,733 units as against 3,36,923 units in October last year, the company said in a statement.
Bajaj Auto's commercial vehicles sales during the month stood at 44,089 units compared with 49,094 units in the year-ago period, down 10.19 per cent.
In the broader market, the BSE benchmark index Sensex ended at 26,559.15, down 97.68 points.
