Bajaj group ropes in Prabal Banerjee for power venture

Shishir Bajaj led-Bajaj group today said Prabal Banerjee has joined as President (Finance & Strategy) for its power ventures.
Banerjee was earlier working with Essar Group as Group President- International Finance.
"Prabal Banerjee has joined Bajaj Group as President (Finance & Strategy) to look after the power ventures of the group in addition to dealing with corporate strategies at group level," Bajaj group said in a statement.
Bajaj group has two power companies -- Bajaj Energy Pvt Ltd with a generation capacity of 450 MW and Lalitpur Power Generation Ltd, which will achieve 660 MW capacity next month out of total 1980 MW.

In his 32 years of experience, Banerjee has held senior positions in leading companies, including Mahindra & Mahindra, Hinduja Group, Adani and Essar Group.
The group also has a sugar company Bajaj Hindusthan.
