Extending support to the Punjabi farmers in Kutch area of Gujarat, Punjab Congress president Partap Singh Bajwa today said he would meet party chief Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to discuss the issue.
Bawja met a delegation of Punjabi farmers who fear displacement from Kutch area.
Bajwa said he had sought appointment from AICC President and the Prime Minister to take up the issue of Gujarat farmers.
Farmers from Punjab and Haryana had migrated to Gujarat 40 years ago, he said.
Bajwa accused Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi of freezing the land of migrated farmers and asked them to sell their land and return to Punjab.
Taking a dig at Punjab CM Parkash Singh Badal and his son Deputy CM Sukhbir Badal, Bajwa said both of them had failed to address the problem of Sikhs in Gujarat when they met them in Chandigarh about five months back.
