Punjab Congress president Partap Singh Bajwa today met a deputation of Punjab Unemployed Veterinary Pharmacists Association and expressed shock over the alleged suicide committed by a veterinary pharmacist.
Bajwa extended support to the Association's cause and said "Sacrifice of pharmacist Jaswinder Singh will not go waste."
"There are many other qualified professionals in Punjab who are facing unemployment. The SAD-BJP government has ruined the life of educated youth. There are many colleges but no jobs," he said, according to a party release here.
Ironically, neither Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal nor SAD's Bathinda MP Harsimrat Kaur Badal took note of the pharmacist's suicide and none of them visited the family of the deceased, Bajwa said.
The 35-year-old pharmacist of Bathinda district committed suicide two days back and blamed the state government in his suicide note.
Pharmacists have been waiting for salaries for the past four months and were sitting on dharna at zilla parishad office for 18 days.
