Facing an arrest warrant under sections 384 (extortion) and 385 (attempting to put in fear or injury, in order to commit extortion), he gave himself up before the court of Judicial Magistrate (First Class) Sanjay Dubey.

Ramadhir Singh, whose wife Indu Devi is the Chairman of Dhanbad Municipal Corporation, is a younger brother of former Jharkhand Urban Development Minister of Jharkhand Bachha Singh.
Ramadhir Singh is also facing over a dozen cases in different courts in Dhanbad district.
