: Ballarpur Industries Limited (BILT)today sought sops to reopen its plant - AP Rayon - in Jayashankar Bhupalpally district.
A press release,the officials of Ballarpur Industries met Ministers KT Rama Rao and K Srihari on the issue and the Ministers had assured them of support and cooperation.
"The Ministers have asked the officials of the company to giveproposals within a week for the revival of the plant and this would be taken up with the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao," the release said.
Earlier this month, the Industries and IT Minister KTR had requestedITC group chairman YC Deveshwar and managing director of ITC Limited, Sanjiv Puri to help revive the Ballarpur unit.
Ballarpur s pulp business operates out of facilities in Jayashankar Bhupalpally and produces rayon grade pulp for the manufacture of viscose staple fibre (VSF) and viscose staple yarn (VSY).
The plant remained shut during 2016.
