The Rajya Sabha member Balmuchu said Congress has not done anything wrong but complied with the existing policy of the allotment committee.

Alleging that BJP was shying away from debate on the issue in both houses of Parliament, Balmuchu said BJP should take part in the debate if they really have evidences of anything wrong in the coal block allocation.

Claiming that out of the 57 coal blocks under scanner the Chief Ministers of non-Congress ruled states had recommended for 53 coal blocks while Congress-ruled state Maharashtra recommended for only four coal blocks.

Balmuchu denied any role of Congress in the recommendation made by Madhu Koda-led state government, backed by Congress in Jharkhand.

"We strongly favour for a probe in all the recommendations made by the state governments irrespective of the parties in power," he said.

About a coal block allocated to Union Minister Subodh Kant Sahay's brother, Balmuchu said a writ filed in the Delhi High Court in this regard has been quashed while the petitioner was fined Rs 2.5 lakh.
