Over a hundred Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (Prajatantrik) (JVM) activists were rounded up as its one-day Jamshedpur bandh affected life today.
Hundreds of bandh supporters took to the streets to enforce the bandh called to press for their demand to construct a fly-over to decongest the heavy traffic in the city.
Majority of shops and markets, business establishments, petrol pumps were closed and buses and auto-rickshaws were plying with depleted numbers.
Financial institutions including banks have downed their shutters for sometime as the bandh supporters came to enforce the bandh, but reopened soon after they left the scene.
The rail services remained unaffected during the bandh, Railway officials said.
Barring sporadic incidents of attacking auto-rickshaws and buses at Sakchi and Mango, the bandh was by and large peaceful.
Police said over a hundred JVM activists were rounded up from different parts of the city, including its central committee Secretary Abhay Singh Singh when he was leading a procession in Sakchi to enforce the bandh.
