Bangalore-based Champions Group is aiming to bring in 'experiential luxury travel' in Goa, a concept that is picking up worldwide in tourism, a company official said today.
"We have launched Catamaran facility for high-end customers in South Goa. There are also other facilities which are low priced and unique to the state giving a lifetime experience to the travellers," Prajwal Vishwanath, a senior official from Champions Group, told PTI on the sidelines of the ongoing Goa International Travel Mart (GITM).
The group ventured into Goa market about six months back and since then has forayed into this untapped tourism potential in the state.
The catamaran ship anchored at Cavelossim village has been attracting corporate and high end clients. It is a sort of 'floatel' (floating hotel) for high end customers, Vishwanath said.
"Experiential travel is a concept which already exists abroad but is a new thing to Goa. We have successfully introduced it here," Edson Martins, the company's business development head, said.
The company has also introduced Pontoons and high speed cruise boats in Goan waters.
It has already provided eco-friendly boats to the state government-run facility at Mayem lake.
"At Mayem we have supplied equipment like 'Chikara', eco-friendly battery operated boats and soon we will have a floating restaurant for the mid-segment customers," Martins said.
