Bangladesh team makes an aerial survey of Tipaimukh

The team of journalist had an aerial view on Wednesday from the Indian Air Force helicopter which could not land on the site due to marshy helipad recently,official sources said here today.

The team was accompanied by high officials of National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC) and Media Liaison Officer of Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, Ranjan Mondal.

Bangladesh has expressed its concern that the construction of the Dam on the river Barak might have adverse effect on the country.

NHPC, the implementing agency of the project has assured that Bangladesh will not be affected in any case as no diversion of water-flow of river Barak will be made.

The team was led by Bangladesh External Affairs Publicity Wing Deputy Director Mohhamad Zashimuddin.

Official sources said the team was visiting Tipaimukh site at the invitation of the Indian government.
