The team of journalists had an aerial view on Wednesday from an Indian Air Force helicopter which could not land on the site due to a marshy helipad, official sources said here today.
The team was accompanied by high officials of the National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC) and Media Liaison Officer of Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, Ranjan Mondal.
Bangladesh has expressed its concern that the construction of the Dam on river Barak in south Assam may have adverse effects on the country.
NHPC, the implementing agency of the project has assured that Bangladesh will not be affected in any case as no diversion of water-flow of river Barak will be made.
The team was led by Bangladesh External Affairs Publicity Wing Deputy Director Mohhamad Zashimuddin.
Official sources said the team was visiting the Tipaimukh site at the invitation of the Indian government.
