Bangladeshi national, GNLA linkman held

A Bangladeshi national and a linkman of the insurgent outfit Garo National Liberation Army (GNLA) were arrested separately in Meghalaya's West Garo Hills district, the police said today.
The Bangladeshi national identified as Ansar Ali Dhundu of Deslai village in Bangladesh's Sherpur district was apprehended yesterday by the BSF while he was trying to cross over into India.
A spokesperson told PTI that Ansar was captured from the Border Outpost Nokchi and was was handed over to police.
Meanwhile, a GNLA linkman identified as Onem Marak of Rongchandalgre village under Phulbari police station in West Garo Hills was arrested during a joint operation of the BSF and the state police yesterday, he said.
In the past one week, the BSF seized 391 bottles of IMFL, 105.74 cubic feet wooden logs, four cattle and other contraband items worth over Rs 11 lakh.
