Chief Manager of a local branch of a nationalised bank was arrested today for allegedly raping a 42-year-old widow under the pretext of marriage, the police said.
"The accused, identified as Meghraj Asudani (55), is the chief manager with the Pension branch of the bank here," Koh-e-Fiza police station in-charge Anil Vajpayee said.
The woman, the mother of two children, had alleged in her complaint that Asudani maintained physical relations with her since the last six months under the pretext of marriage.
However, he reneged on his word, the officer said quoting the complaint.
Vajpayee said Asudani has been booked under section 376 (punishment for rape) of the IPC.
