Banking services remained paralysed in Bihar as clearing operations were shut due to the strike and a large number of ATMs were also not functioning causing inconvenience to the customers, the Bank Employees' Federation, Bihar (BEF) general secretary B. Prasad said in a release.
In Patna, all bank offices including that of private sector banks remained closed as the bank employees and officials abstained from work, he said.
The striking bankmen took out rallies and shouted slogans against the central government demanding scrapping of Khandelwal committee report, Banking Laws (Amendment) Bill, outsourcing of banking jobs and for restoration of compassionate appointment scheme, Prasad said.
