A bank officer was shot dead today by three bike-borne miscreants in Bihar's Jehanabad district, police said.
Alok Chandra, a probationary officer with Bank of Baroda in Arwal, was on his way to office from Jehanabad on a motorcycle when the miscreants intercepted his vehicle near Nehalpur diversion in Parasbigaha police station area and pumped three bullets into him, Station House Officer Aman Anand said.
The reason behind the killing is yet to be ascertained, the SHO said.
"The bank officer, a man in his mid-30s, died on the spot. His body has been sent to sadar hospital for post-mortem," the officer said.
No one has been arrested in this connection so far but the police are investigating into the matter, he added.
