Banking Excellence Awards announced

UCO Bank, Jammu and Kashmir Bank and HDFC have been adjudged as the Best Indian Banks under Public Sector, Private Sector and New Generation lenders respectively by the state Forum of Bankers Clubs (Kerala).
The announcements were made for the 6th Banking Excellence Award constituted by forum.
The Second Best banks are Canara Bank (Public Sector), The Karur Vysya Bank and The South Indian Bank (Private Sector) and ICICI Bank and Yes Bank (New Generation Sector), Forum President Abraham Thariyan, and General Secretary K U Balakrishnan, told reporters here.

Ericsson partners three NGOs for education prog * Swedish telecom gear maker Ericsson today announced the launch of its global education initiative 'Connect to Learn' in India in partnership with three NGOs.
As a part of the programme, Ericsson in association with three leading non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in India - Plan International (India Chapter), Smile Foundation and Pratham Education Foundation has launched projects for periods of one to three years for the project, Ericsson said in a statement.
