Bansal's nephew Naresh lit the pyres in the presence of the officer's brother Pawan and some relatives.
Nearly two months after his wife and daughter committed suicide, Bansal, out on a bail in a corruption case, allegedly hanged himself along with his son at their residence with their purported suicide notes claiming "harassment" by CBI.
The incident took place at the house of Bansal, Former Director General Corporate Affairs, in East Delhi's Neelkanth Apartments.
Sixty-year-old Bansal was arrested on July 16 for allegedly accepting bribe from a prominent pharma company. Three days later, his wife and daughter committed suicide.
Bansal and his son Yogesh (31) had named some CBI officers in their purported suicide notes alleging they had been "harassing" them.
