Speaking on the occasion, Bansal underlined the fact that the introduction of the smart school concept in government schools would help eliminate the discrimination between the rich and the poor students as, hitherto, only the rich students had access to this concept.
The Minister further announced that he has also earmarked funds from MPLAD for providing water purifiers in all the 200 existing government schools and 16 upcoming schools to ensure that the students get clean drinking water.
He also emphasised upon the need for water conservation and called upon the teachers to inculcate the habit of water conservation amongst the students.
