Prince Louis, the third child of Britain's Prince William and Kate Middleton, will be baptised on July 9, the Kensington Palace announced today.

The Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, will conduct the christening ceremony of the Prince, who was born on April 23, at the Chapel Royal, St. James' Palace here.

"The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are pleased to announce that the christening of Prince Louis will take place on Monday, July 9 at The Chapel Royal, St James' Palace, London," the palace said.

Louis Arthur Charles, who was born at the Lindo Wing of London's St. Mary's Hospital, is the third child of William and Kate after Prince George and Princess Charlotte and fifth in line to the British throne.

He is set to be baptised at the same place as his older brother George. Their sister, Charlotte, had her christening at St. Mary Magdalene Church at great-grandmother Queen Elizabeth II's Sandringham estate in Norfolk.

Louis will be dressed in the same frilly cream gown used for George and Charlotte a replica of an intricate lace and satin dress made for Queen Victoria's eldest child, also called Victoria, in 1841.

The palace said the ceremony will be a private affair, lasting about half an hour.

The date of christening falls on a rest day of the ongoing World Cup, allowing his football loving father not to miss any crucial game, the BBC reported.
