Loss of moustache has triggered a spat between a 35-year-old local resident and a barber here, with the former approaching police.
Kiran Thakur, the complainant, Tuesday claimed that the barber, Sunil Lakshane, threatened him after he berated him for chopping off his moustache without consent.
Thakur told police that he visited the Friends Parlour Saloon in Kanhan area here for a hair cut and a shave. The barber shaved off his moustache without asking him, he said.
On reaching home, when a peeved Thakur rang Lakshane, the latter allegedly used threatening language, the police complaint said.
The police have registered a non-cognisable offence under IPC sections 507 (criminal intimidation), an official said.
A customer at the shop said the barber may not have been aware that there was a demand in the Lok Sabha that the handlebar moustache of the brave Indian Air Force pilot Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman should be named as 'national moustache'.
