Forest department officials today recovered a barking deer when the animal was being transported in a bus in Odisha's Mayurbhanj district.
Following a tip off, the officials raided a Baripada bound bus from Karanjia and seized the barking deer, which was being transported to be sold in the market. The animal was suspected to have been captured from the forests in Karanjia area.
"We have detained the driver, conductor and helper of the bus and investigation is in progress," said additional conservator of forest (ACF) Arun Patra.
