In futures trading at the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, barley for delivery in May contracts dropped by Rs 10.50 or 0.83 per cent to Rs 1,252.50 per quintal, clocking an open interest of 12,220 lots.
In a similar manner, barley for delivery in June contracts also dipped by Rs 10.50, or 0.81 per cent to Rs 1,282 per quintal, having an open interest of 24,920 lots.
Traders attributed fall in barley prices at futures trade to profit-booking at every rise by speculators amidst ample stocks following increased supplies from growing regions.
