Aam Aadmi Party today got a shot in the arm when Jasjeet Singh Barnala, eldest son of former Punjab chief minister Surjit Singh Barnala, joined the party ahead of the assembly election in the state on February 4.
Barnala joined AAP at Khanna city in Ludhiana in the presence of senior leaders Sanjay Singh, Durgesh Pathak and Darshan Singh.
Congress has not allotted ticket to any member of the Barnala family, who had merged their SAD (Longowal) party with Congress in April last year.
Punjab votes to elect a new 117-member assembly on February 4.
