Glass' representative confirmed his death, but had no further details regarding the cause or location, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The actor made his TV debut in 1973 and appeared in countless series through 2014. He earned a supporting actor Primetime Emmy nomination for his role as Detective Ron Harris on the '70s sitcom "Barney Miller," which he did for seven years.
His other shows included, "All in the Family", "Sanford and Son", "Hawaii Five-O" and Joss Whedon's short-lived "Firefly", as well as two episodes of popular sitcom "Friends".
His Hollywood peers and co-stars were quick to react to the news on Twitter.
